This review is a little late I know, that tends to happen when I really don’t like a single. Sad to say really.
I really didn’t like “Sing Forever”. I really didn’t like the tempo and Ken’s vocals get a little annoying at certain points and sounds awkward. The lyrics seemed to be a bit cheesy especially in the chorus and the overall arrangement sounded kind of messy as well.
Score – 4
“Taiyou” is a sweet, calming ballad and it has really nice piano in it. I thought Ken’s vocals were great here and I liked the emotion he put into them. The whole song was just Ken’s vocal and piano but it worked well.
Score – 8
I don’t know what I was expecting from “HOTEL VAMPIRE” but it intrigued me even it is just a little Halloween inspired. It has up tempo strings, guitar and clapping in it and Ken sings at a quick pace. There was an English rap towards the end and while the lyrics felt silly, it actually didn’t sound bad.
Score – 7
CANDY never really stuck out to me before, and this “Suspicious Remix” doesn’t really help matters, it adds a lot of fast organ and percussion giving it a more jazzy sound but I still found it a bit boring.
Score – 6.5
Final Note
Average single, hopefully Aishiteru improves things. Talk of a new album?

GIRL NEXT DOOR – Ready to be a lady

I thought “Ready to be a lady” was a really weird title but I actually think very highly of the song. At first I thought it was similar to Infinity but I tried not to make any comparisons. I really liked the energy and feel of the song and thought the chorus was really fun and catchy.
Score – 8.5
Kaze no Capsule sounded like a typical track from GND but it was kind of interesting and kept my attention. I liked the pacing and I especially liked how fast the chorus was and I thought it was kind of catchy. However, like I said, fairly usual stuff from GIRL NEXT DOOR.
Score – 7.5
Unfortunately Shiawase no Hakari has pretty much the same diagnosis. Sounds kinda of similar to past GND tracks but still manages to keep my attention in some way. It’s a bit of a ballad and is kind of long winded, like a few other ballad b-sides from GND. For this song, the lead in to the chorus was really pretty and I think I even preferred it over the chorus itself.
Score – 7.5
The “EURODIMA Remix” of Infinity didn’t really do anything for me as you might have guessed. To be honest, the remix doesn’t do much to the song either. It just kind of makes it sound hyper and at 6:41 it’s way too long. The only redeeming quality is the fact that Infinity is a really great song.
Score – 6.5
Final Note
Don’t really know where GND is headed but something needs to change methinks.

Falling Into It

School is going well, thankfully. I haven’t been in school for a while and it felt weird at first, but I’m starting to get back into the swing of things.
Ah, then there was my birthday 
It was pretty nice. On my actual birthday, Thursday, we had ice cream cake and watched Prince of Persia which my sister had given me as a gift.
On Friday, we all went out to this place called “Ichigo Ichie” which is a Hibachi style restaurant. It was really nice and the food was really good, I even had some sushi ^_^
And of course, when it came time for dessert, I ordered Chocolate Tempura ice cream, and they came around banging a gong and singing happy birthday to me with a candle in it, they even let me bang on the gong xD It was a really good time.
On a final note, October is all about Halloween right? I’m not too big on Halloween myself. The last time I went out for Halloween was just last year, but prior to that, I hadn’t been out or dressed up in years. Earlier this year however, I came up with an idea of what I could dress up as if I had to or wanted to go out again this year. I thought it was a pretty good idea, but I don’t think I’ll have any reason to go out this year, oh well, I’ll keep the idea in my head though, just in case. If I do go out and go with what I plan, I’ll post pictures, then you can see what the heck I’m talking about For now, I want to keep it secret xD
It’s seeming that October is going to be a fairly quiet and laid back month.

On the blog side of things, it seems that there are only two singles for me to review this month and they both come out on the same day!

On a related note, there will be two video game releases this month that I hope to review. As it stands, I plan on picking up both Final Fantasy The 4 Heroes Of Light and Star Wars The Force Unleashed II. If it ends up being that I can only get 1, it will most likely be The Force Unleashed II. That could very well happen as I am a little low on funds this month, I’ve had to make so many purchases >_< They’ve been worth it though ;D
