I was really glad when this single was coming up even though I really just wanted a new album. Hopefully this just means that a new album is certainly on the way.

“Unmei no Shizuku ~Destiny’s Star~” is a tie in for the new Ultraman Zero movie in Japan (in case you wanted to know). I was actually really impressed in the beginning as Chisa seems to sing in a slightly lower register than we normally hear from her. That ends quickly though and I really liked the jump from slow and calm intro to fast and furious pace of the song. Some of the synths and beats here sounded fresh and everyone knows that is certainly something GND needs. The variety featured in the bridge is also a nice touch.

I think “Hoshizora Keikaku” sounds a bit more Christmas like, which you would expect given the season, but only in the respect that it features some bells and chimes. There’s a lot going on at all times of the song but I don’t really find anything that interesting about it, cute but boring I guess you could say.

Well, if I thought that the original sounded Christmas like, the “Merry X’mas thanks daddy ver.” is definitely Christmas like. You can tell right aways as the music is slightly different, it seems more toned down and they use acoustic as opposed to electric guitar. Not to mention that Chisa starts the song off be replacing a line from the original song with “Merry Merry Christmas, Happy Christmas” I actually liked this version a lot more than I did the original.

The “Hi-NGR Attack Remix” (whatever that means) of Be your wings kind of sounds like what happened to Infinity on the last single. The song is made to be way to hyper and I really just can’t listen to it, it’s even annoying at times. I don’t think it really helps that I’m not necessarily a fan of the original Be your wings to begin with.

The “BE MY FRIENDS Remix” seems kind of similar in the seemingly hyper respect, but it isn’t as bad. Still a little annoying sometimes but at least I can listen to the whole song, I guess it helps that I actually really like the original FRIENDSHIP.

Final Note

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, not a bad single GND, but you’ll need to step it up a bit for the next album.
